The fact that you don’t understand something shouldn’t be a deferral for you to not engage in it. Oftentimes when new phenomena enter the public domain there are those who dismally it outright. But, that doesn’t mean you should also turn a blind eye to it.

It is rather normal that when people do not understand something, they dismiss it. However, it’s imperative to stay up to date and relevant. We have seen trends come and pass, and some people preyed on them and others missed out on great opportunities. Likewise, interest and excitement Metaverse is growing across the spectrums.

We are learning of big brands taking steps into the metaverse. Some are built properties for their metaverse plans. Brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Reebok have already made headways into the Metaverse. They have also patented some of their ideas meant for the Metaverse.

So why would other brands also not familiarise themselves with this exciting technology? Brands and marketers will have opportunities to advertise and market in new sophisticated ways.

New opportunities

Technology is the “best’’ thing to ever happen in the world. Of course, it has both good and bad sides. On the good side, is that it always brings new ways to tackle and solve complex issues. It is for these obvious reasons that the marketing industry should prepare if they have not done so already to capitalize on this new technology. When influencer marketing was a new trend many naysayers said that it will not work, some people took that as the truth, ignored it, and missed opportunities to use it strategically to advertise and market to their target consumers. Today influencer marketing is among the most effective and efficient channels of marketing. I digress. In the Metaverse, consumers will have the chance to experience brands in enriched and exciting ways. Consumers will be able to engage with products in real-time.

By entering the metaverse, brands will be churning new paths to reach new markets where in the past they could not.

If you think this is another trend that will fade away. You may have to think again. It’s better to familiarise yourself with it before you miss another great opportunity for your brand and consumers.
